From Governor Sue

Just a quick note to tell you all that I am thinking of you all and wishing you a fantastic Thanksgiving with family and friends.  We all work so very hard to make things better for others but need to reward ourselves from time to time as well.  I pray that you all have a happy and wonderful holiday.

Farewell to a Soroptisister

On Friday, November 6th former SI Chico member, Barbara Todd, passed away.  After living in Sacramento for almost 30 years, Barbara retired from the petroleum industry after twenty years of service. Like so many others, she moved to Chico to be closer to her son, Michael, and her grandchildren. Retirement allowed her to enjoy theater, film, books, and bridge with much more regularity. Barbara joined SI Chico in July of 2004, and resigned her membership in September of this year due to health issues.  Her sister will be arriving in Chico this week and more information will be available shortly at www.affordablemortuary.net.  Her sponsor was Barbara Evans.

Also, just a reminder, we will be meeting in the "lounge" area of the Elk's Club tomorrow as the Elk's have a special speaker in the main room.  It was suggested at last Wednesday's meeting that since some of our members had the day off, and the Elk's were up for it, they would make bar service available.

Finally, it was also suggested that we wear hats tomorrow to honor our dear friend and long time SI member Tish, who always wears a hat to club.  (I just purchased one at JC Penny where ironically they have a big selection ON SALE!) Perhaps a picture or two can be taken and sent over to her/her family to know she's in our thoughts.
